About the Role
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the operation and maintenance of marine engines and auxiliary machinery.
Perform regular lubrication of engines, pumps, winches, and other moving equipment.
Monitor machinery performance and report any abnormalities to the Engineer.
Carry out routine checks on fuel, oil levels, and cooling systems.
Clean and maintain engine room equipment and work areas.
Assist in minor repairs and maintenance tasks under supervision.
Maintain logs related to lubrication, inspections, and maintenance activities.
Ensure compliance with safety procedures and environmental regulations.
Qualifications & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic training in marine engineering or mechanical systems preferred.
Previous experience as an Oiler or in a similar marine/industrial role is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies:
Basic knowledge of marine engines and mechanical systems.
Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
Good physical fitness and ability to work in engine room conditions.
Awareness of safety practices and procedures.
Certifications (Preferred/Required depending on vessel):
STCW Basic Safety Training
Seafarer’s Medical Certificate
Seaman’s Book (CDC)
