About the Role
OBJECTIVES:
• Lead and manage all commercial, contractual, procurement, logistics, and tendering functions to ensure the Company's projects and business operations are commercially viable, contractually compliant, cost-effective, and delivered in accordance with business objectives.
Requirements
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
COMMERCIAL MANAGEMENT
• Develop and implement commercial strategies to maximize profitability and minimize commercial risk.
• Manage project budgets, cost control, cash flow, claims, variations, and commercial reporting.
• Lead contract negotiations with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Monitor project financial performance and recommend corrective actions
CONTRACTS MANAGEMENT
• Prepare, review, negotiate, and administer contracts, subcontracts, MOUs, and service agreements.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company policies.
• Manage claims, disputes, extensions of time (EOT), notices, and contract close-out.
• Maintain the company's contract register and risk register.
PROCUREMENT & SUPPLY CHAIN
• Oversee strategic sourcing, procurement planning, vendor selection, and purchasing activities.
• Ensure timely procurement of materials, equipment, and services.
• Develop supplier relationships and negotiate favourable commercial terms.
• Monitor procurement performance, inventory, and supplier compliance.
LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT
• Plan and coordinate transportation, shipping, customs clearance, mobilization, and project logistics.
• Ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment to project sites.
• Optimize logistics costs while maintaining operational efficiency.
TENDER AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
• Lead the preparation and submission of technical and commercial tenders.
• Review tender requirements, pricing strategies, commercial qualifications, and contractual risks.
• Coordinate with engineering, operations, finance, and HSE teams during bid preparation.
• Maintain tender schedules, bid registers, and proposal documentation.
• Support business development initiatives and identify new market opportunities
LEADERSHIP & GOVERNANCE
• Lead and mentor Commercial, Procurement, Logistics, and Tender teams.
• Develop departmental procedures, KPIs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, applicable laws, and industry standards.
• Provide regular reports and commercial advice to senior management.

EDUCATIONAL
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Law, or related discipline.
• Master’s degree (MBA or equivalent) is an advantage
• Professional certifications (MRICS, MCIPS, PMP, CCM, or equivalent) are advantageous.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum 10 years of commercial management experience.
• Minimum 5 years in a managerial role.
Experience in marine construction, offshore, dredging, oil & gas, EPC, or heavy civil infrastructure projects is highly preferred.
